APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) — A man was arrested in Appleton after he was suspected of shooting four rounds in the air.
On Saturday at approximately 1:55 a.m. officers from the Appleton Police Department responded to an address in the 200 block of S. Walter Avenue, in the City of Appleton for the disturbance.
Prior to officers arrival the suspect had fled the scene, but officers were able to quickly identify a male suspect with help of nearby witnesses.
“Through record searches and such, we were able to get a vehicle that belonged to him, or was associated with him,” said Captain Mike Frisch with the Appleton Police Department. “Then our officers were able to locate that vehicle and take him into custody.”
The male suspect, 29 year old Peng Yang, was taken into custody without incident in the City of Appleton. The firearm used in the incident was also located and recovered by Appleton Police.
No injuries or property damage were reported as a result of the shots being fired.
Yang is at the Outagamie County Jail on charges of Carrying a Concealed Weapon and Negligent Handling of a Dangerous Weapon. Peng Yang is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
