APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Appleton’s Fourth of July fireworks are now a “go.”
Appleton’s fireworks show is normally held at Appleton Memorial Park, but not this year.
“The Festival Foods Fireworks will be on July 4. It will be held at the Wisconsin International Raceway. The show starts at 9:45 p.m.,” Nina Winistorfer with Festival Foods said.
She tells FOX 11 spectators can enjoy the show from inside their vehicle, but WIR will be opening its doors, according to a Facebook post WIR made Tuesday night.
“When you’re driving in you will be separated between each car and asked to stay within the vehicle if at all possible.”
If you plan to go to the racetrack, Winistrofer says plan to pay.
“There is going to be a $5 charge from the raceway just to have the labor there to make sure everyone is staying socially distanced as well.”
You can expect a few pre-show fireworks too.
“Our partners at Spielbauer who are going to be putting on the show, they are going to be shooting a shell up in the air every 15 minutes prior to 9:45 when the show starts,” Winistorfer said.
Fox Valley residents like Jeff Coe are excited the show is back on.
“It’s finally nice to go out and see people finally and just enjoy the time during the fireworks. Because like I said before, everyone comes out and it’s always a good time.”
Festival Foods says they look forward to hosting next year’s fireworks show at Appleton Memorial Park.
