GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — It’s an Oktoberfest celebration; The Bar on Holmgren Way in Green Bay is hosting Bash for the Badge Fundraiser on Saturday, September 9 beginning at 11 a.m.
Benefiting department’s include the the Green Bay Police Department, the Ashwaubenon Public Safety Department, and the Hobart-Lawrence Police Department. Funds will be distributed to each department equally for equipment and officer safety.
The event will feature cornhole, pickleball, raffles, and stein hoisting.
“They’ll stick their arms out with a mug of beer, and whoever holds it out the longest wins whatever prize Samuel Adams brings that day,” said Investigator Daniel VanLanen with the Hobart/Lawrence Police Department. “It usually takes about 5 to 10 minutes before everyone’s arms get tired.”
Pickleball players will need to register in advance. Cost is $40 for a two hour court rental.
Cornhole players can register at The Bar between 11 a.m. – noon on Saturday; Cost is $40 per team.
