HOWARD, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Another win storm has arrived, and had many people outside in the snow Sunday.
Some were happy to be out enjoying the storm…others not so much.
The Allen family in Howard enjoyed the sixth named snowstorm of the season, by heading out to the hill at Meadowbrook Elementary School.
“So we came out to sled and snowboard, and we’re having some fun,” says Asher Allen.
Asher says he is not sick of winter yet, and hopes the snow continues.
“It’s really fun to play in…having fun and building a snowman.”
His sister Lyla Allen agrees.
“I really like it because it’s fun to play in.”
She says she hopes she still has a few more snow days this year.
Not everybody enjoys the snow, especially those that have to remove it. But, some say that’s just part of living in Northeast Wisconsin.
Jerry Peters is originally from California, where he never had to shovel.
“Here it’s like six months of winter, it’s just terrible, it’s like fall and spring don’t even exist it seems like.”
Although, he says with the temperatures Sunday in the low 30’s, shoveling wasn’t too bad.
“As long as it’s not like 13 inches or something, if it’s like two to four inches I don’t care, I’ll get out, I’ll shovel it, and it doesn’t even stick because it just melts…this was actually really light, so its not too bad, it could be worse.”
Gareth Baur agrees that the snow removal was easier this time around.
“Using my snow blower, finally working, got it tuned up a little bit so not struggling this time.”.
He even did it in shorts.
“It’s fine, I could be out here in my boxers and a Cheesehead right now if I really wanted to.”
Baur is also ready for spring weather.
“I’m just ready for fishing and getting the boat out now that the river’s open…I’m over it.”
Peters hopes this is the last snowstorm of the season.
“Snow in March to me, shouldn’t be a thing.”
Spring is schedule to arrive on March 20th.
