GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The annual Habitat for Humanity Women Build is not only a chance to learn some new skills, but it’s a chance to help someone see their dream of home ownership come true. Jessica Diederich, Chief Executive Officer of the Greater Green Bay Habitat for Humanity says anyone can volunteer.
“We’re reserving space for women to be able to feel empowered, and to help families in the area.” said Diederich. “You can have any kind of skill set.”
This year, the Women Build kicks off on March 8 which is International Women’s Day. You can register as an individual or as a team. Click here to learn about registering.
To earn a spot on the build site, each team member must raise a minimum of $100.
“You have a fundraising goal that we’d like you to meet, then you come out and volunteer.” said Diederich. “The funds that we raise; we use that to buy the building materials for the house.”
If you’re an individual looking to make an impact in your community, you don’t need to have a team to be able to raise money. You can also register individually to fundraise with your family, friends and peers.
