MANITOWOC, WI – After two successful years, Maple Days is set to return to the Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center. The two-day event, scheduled for Friday, March 10 and Saturday, March 11, is held in partnership with the Wisconsin Maple Syrup Producers Association.
Family-friendly activities will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday at Farm Wisconsin. Guests will learn how to tap a sugar maple log, grade maple syrup, learn about the science of sap, make maple taffy, and sample pure Wisconsin maple syrup.
All activities are included in the price of regular admission to the discovery center.
New this year, the first 25 families to visit on either Friday or Saturday will receive a coupon for a free maple tree sapling. Families are encouraged to plant their new maple sapling at home, and observe as it grows in to a mature tree. Trees for this offer have generously been donated by Maple Sweet Dairy and Inthewoods Sugar Bush.
Beyond Farm Wisconsin, visitors are invited to extend their experience with stops at two local sugarbushes. Both Inthewoods Sugar Bush and Maple Sweet Dairy will be open to the public from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Friday and Saturday, for guests to witness maple syrup production firsthand. Visitors can see the sugar maple trees, modern sap collection tools, and processing equipment that turns sap into sweet maple syrup.
Visiting two out of the three sites throughout the Maple Days event will enter participants in a drawing to win a gift basket filled with Wisconsin-made maple products, courtesy of the participating sugarbushes.

Wisconsin Maple Syrup Producers Association
The Wisconsin Maple Syrup Producers Association is dedicated to improving the ability of its members to produce & market the finest pure maple syrup in North America. Since the early 1960s, their goal has been to promote the consumption of pure maple syrup produced and processed in the state of Wisconsin. Today, the association is comprised of over 240 maple syrup producers throughout the state.

Maple Sweet Dairy
Maple Sweet Dairy is rooted in over 60 years of maple syrup production. In 1964, Don and Ev Van Deurzen began by tapping only 50 trees and cooking in a small flat pan in the woods. Today, they run over 1,200 taps, 500 of which run on a solar-powered vacuum tubing system.

Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center
The Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center is an interactive agricultural education center located in Manitowoc County. Farm Wisconsin connects visitors’ curiosity to the wonder of Wisconsin agriculture and provides guests with a better understanding of their food sources and their importance.
