FOREST COUNTY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A Fond du Lac man and an Oshkosh woman are in jail and could face a string of charges, after they were allegedly found with fentanyl and methamphetamine in a hotel room in northern Wisconsin.
The Forest County Sheriff’s Office said it received a call at 12:17 a.m. on Jan. 2 about a man and woman fighting in a hotel. When deputies arrived, they found Thomas Owens, 29, from Fond du Lac and Amanda West, 21, from Oshkosh.
The sheriff’s office says that while deputies were speaking with Owens and West, they could see drugs on top of the bed in plan view.
While searching the room, deputies found evidence of fentanyl, methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia. Both Owens and West were arrested and taken to the Forest County Jail.
Their vehicle was then impounded and searched. The team discovered fentanyl, methamphetamine, ketamine, ecstasy, psilocybin, and marijuana. They also found THC wax, several digital scales, a large amount of drug paraphernalia, and a gun with the serial number removed.
The Oshkosh Police Department searched Owens’ and West’s home in Oshkosh, finding more fentanyl and methamphetamine as well as a large amount of ammunition.
West and Owens have both been referred to the Forest County District Attorney for several potential charges: possession of fentanyl and possession with intent to deliver, possession of methamphetamine and possession with intent to deliver, two counts of possession of hallucinogenic and stimulant drugs, possession of THC and possession with intent to deliver, possession of methamphetamine paraphernalia, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of other drug generally, possession of prescription drugs without a prescription, possession of counterfeit narcotic, felon in possession of a firearm and obstructing an officer.
Owens is being held on a $25,000 cash bond and a probation hold. West is being held on a $10,000 cash bond.
