(Reuters) -Whitbread, the owner of UK hotel chain Premier Inn, said on Wednesday its new chief executive would be Dominic Paul, the boss of the British franchisee for U.S.-based Domino’s Pizza.
Paul, a former head of Costa Coffee who now leads London-listed Domino’s Pizza Group, takes the helm of Whitbread in January, as the group navigates rising costs and labour shortages. He will succeed Alison Brittain.
Domino’s said its board was starting a process to identify a successor to Paul, who took over in May 2020 and has overseen the resolution to a longstanding dispute with franchisees and guided the company through the COVID-19 pandemic.
Shares of Domino’s were down 3.5% after the announcement while Whitbread shares were down 1.5%.
