FOND DU LAC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Denell Logan was convicted Wednesday of first-degree reckless homicide for the February, 2021 murder of David Posey.
Logan, 31, pleaded guilty to the charge, which was reduced from an intentional homicide count. Two other charges were dismissed, court records show.
Sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 14. Logan faces a maximum of 60 years in prison system.
Co-defendant Callie Bender returns to court Monday for a status conference. No trial date has been set for her.
Prosecutors said Posey went to Logan’s house to buy crack cocaine. While there, Bender told police Posey began to punch Logan and tried to rob them. Logan shot Posey in the leg with a gun Bender allegedly bought for him. Posey drove off and crashed his vehicle a few blocks away. He was taken to the hospital but died, the criminal complaint says.
