GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A person’s death on Green Bay’s west side is being considered suspicious.
Police say a family member called 911 around 8:15 a.m. to report the death at a home on 3rd Street near Tank Park and Tank Elementary School.
Capt. Ben Allen says the death is an isolated incident.
“We know for sure that the public is not in danger from anything that occurred here,” he said.
Many unanswered questions remain, however.
A stretch of 3rd Street between Norwood and Greenwood avenues is expected to be closed for much of the day, as a pathologist has been called in from Madison.
Allen also said the incident will not be an issue for the nearby school.
“We’ve been in contact with the school district because of the proximity to the school. There’s no danger to the school or the students at all. We’ll be working with them as we have the road closed down, probably for a majority of the day today, as far as any bus route changes or anything like that.”
