TOWN OF LAWRENCE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A person falling asleep in a vehicle at a gas station led to the largest drug bust in Hobart/Lawrence history, police say.
On March 29, authorities say they were called to a gas station on Freedom Road (Highway S) in Lawrence. The caller reported a vehicle was parked at a gas pump for more than an hour.
When officers got there, they found a person asleep in the driver’s seat. Officers woke him up and he took his hands out of his pockets. Police could then see that he had drug paraphernalia.
Police then began an investigation and found meth, cocaine, fentanyl, LSD, marijuana, heroin, prescription medication, designer pills, about $50,000 in cash, four hand guns and ammunition.
Police did not release the suspect’s name but said he was being held at the Brown County Jail.
