LUXEMBURG, WI (WTAQ) — The Superintendent of the Luxemburg-Casco School district is calling it a career.
Glenn Schlender has been in education for over 37 years and says he’ll be done at the end of the school year. He says there’s a lot he’s proud of.
“Probably the one thing people point to most is that we passed a referendum when, for years, the district struggled to do so,” Schlender told WTAQ.
The district’s long-attempted referendum for an expanded school campus in Luxemburg passed under his eight-year tenure. His says he’s proud of facility upgrades and increased academic performance during his time with the district as well.
“My goal in coming to LC was to try to change the culture so much that it continued after I left,” Schlender said.
Schlender says that’s a culture of frankness and honest criticism. He says he’ll stay in the area.
