HOBART, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The man suspected in a domestic incident in Hobart has died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The 40-year-old man was found in a wooded area Wednesday after a several-hour standoff with authorities.
Hobart police were called to an apartment building on Centerline Drive for a domestic disturbance Wednesday morning.
The caller, a 25-year-old woman, said her boyfriend was threatening to kill her.
The woman said during the disturbance, her boyfriend fired a round from his handgun. She was able to leave the residence with minor injuries from the disturbance, police say.
Officials tried to make contact with the man who was still inside the residence for several hours but he did not respond.
With the use of a drone, officials were able to locate the man outside the apartment and took him to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
