GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – Three people are in custody following a chase on Green Bay’s west side on Friday afternoon.
Around 2:00 p.m., Green Bay Detectives were conducting surveillance on a vehicle suspected of being used in recent shootings. The suspected operator of the vehicle had a felony warrant out of the department of corrections and was known to carry weapons based on previous police contacts.
Marked police units attempted to stop the vehicle near South Military Avenue and Biemeret Street, at which time the vehicle attempted to elude officers. Additional marked units, including K-9’s were dispatched to assist. The pursuit lasted approximately three minutes and then the driver of the vehicle hit a light pole at 9th St and Redwood Dr. Two of the three occupants ran on foot and were taken into custody close by. One of the people that ran was apprehended with the assistance of a K-9. Officers located drugs and two handguns in the vehicle.
Antjuan Lamont Haynes and Darion Ervin Howard were jailed on outstanding warrants. Lisa Howell was taken into custody for possession of THC.
Investigators are processing the weapons recovered for DNA and ballistic evidence. Additional weapons charges may be referred to the District Attorney’s Office. This is part of an active investigation and no further information will be released at this time.
