MILWAUKEE, WI (METRO) – Zach Davies was outdueled by Marco Gonzales as the Brewers lost 8-3 to the Mariners at Miller Park.
Davies gave up six runs in four innings to take the loss. Yasmani Grandal homered and Ryan Braun had three hits and scored two runs for Milwaukee.
The Brewers and Mariners meet again tonight at Miller Park. It’s the second of their three-game series. Adrian Houser takes the mound for Milwaukee, while Seattle has yet to name its starter.
The Brewers own a one-game lead for the top NL wild card.
Meanwhile fans can vote among finalists at each position for next month’s MLB All-Star Game in Cleveland starting today. Christian Yelich, Mike Moustakas and Yasmani Grandal are all finalists representing Milwaukee. Voting will end at 3 p.m. Central on Thursday.
