APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) — Slowly, but surely, some signs of normalcy are starting to return after nearly a year of the COVID-19 pandemic.
That includes in the world of travel. Rose Gray is with Fox World Travel, she says people are making travel plans again.
“Many of these people are rescheduling their canceled spring breaks from last year,” Gray told WTAQ. “We’re helping them through that.”
Even international travel is coming back ever so slowly. New CDC rules require travelers coming back to the United States to have proof of a negative COVID-19 test from the past 48 hours on file before being allowed back in the country, but Gray says overseas destinations are pulling out all the stops.
“Many of them are offering complimentary antigen COVID tests, and giving you an opportunity to stay up to 14 days if you happen to test positive,” said Gray. “Free of charge.”
But the travel rules still have some people on edge about crossing the border. Domestic travel to places such as Arizona and Florida has become more popular this year.
Gray says she doesn’t expect things to truly get back to normal until late in the Summer.
