(METRO) THOUSAND OAKS, CA – Before landing quarterback Matthew Stafford from the Lions, the Rams had their eye on an even bigger name. The LA Times’ Sam Farmer reports the Rams originally tried to pry Aaron Rodgers away from the Packers, but Green Bay flatly rejected the idea. Los Angeles instead got Stafford from Detroit for quarterback Jared Goff and a package of draft picks.
