APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Downtown Appleton businesses are brining a little light for the holidays.
The “Light Up Appleton” Window Walk kicked off Friday.
The displays show how different cultures use light in their holiday celebrations.
Organizers tell FOX 11 the window displays will add something different to the downtown’s holiday celebration, even as some things needed to be changed because of COVID-19.
“Downtown is really the heart of the holiday celebration here in Appleton, and unfortunately, we’re not able to do the parade this year, so we know that the decorations are going to be an important part of everybody’s holiday season,” Downtown Appleton, Inc. Executive Director Jennifer Stephany said.
She says people can get an extra educational element by scanning a QR code on each of the displays.
