GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The City of Green Bay will be live streaming the ballot-counting process on Election Day so that you can be with your ballot every step of the way.
“Given the fact that we’re in a pandemic and given some of the concerns that voters have about the integrity of the election, we feel it’s appropriate to actually live stream the central count,” Chief of Staff to Green Bay’s Mayor Celestine Jeffreys said.
Ballot counting will be held at the KI Convention Center so that people can be socially distant.
“So that’s the media, that’s the observers, and that’s the staff members. So just providing another way for more people to see what’s going on, how the count is being conducted,”‘ Jeffreys said.
Jeffreys says that details like this equal democracy.
“I think it would be just a fascinating opportunity for voters, for residents, for people who want to become citizens, for teachers, for students to just take a look to see how it’s done,” Jeffreys said.
