OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A science teacher in Oshkosh is getting national recognition — and a $10,000 boost for her school — after winning a nationwide Teacher of the Year competition sponsored by BUBBL’R.
BUBBL’R announced Kimberly Loeper as this year’s winner. Loeper teaches sixth- and seventh-grade science at South Park Middle School.
Staff and students praised Loeper, calling her creative, resourceful and willing to go the extra mile.
The award includes a giant $10,000 check that will go toward South Park Middle School. Loeper said the school is already discussing how to use the money.
“As a staff kind of talking about what you know would be best use of funds. If we wanted to go some field trips we couldn’t otherwise..afford or some programs that we can bring into the school,” Loeper said.
Loeper also won a BUBBL’R mini fridge and a year’s supply of BUBBL’R drinks to stock it with. She also receives a $500 gift card.
