Oct 13 (Field Level Media) – Boston Legacy FC goalkeeper Casey Murphy will miss the rest of the season with a right knee injury, the team said Tuesday.
Murphy, 30, sustained a partial tear of her posterior cruciate ligament in a 4-2 win against the Portland Thorns on Oct. 3.
She will be placed on the season-ending injury/illness list and is projected to make a full recovery for the start of next season.
Murphy made 25 starts in her first season with Boston and posted four clean sheets. She previously played for the North Carolina Courage (2021-25) and OL Reign (2019-20) in NWSL, and with Montpellier (2018-19) in France.
Murphy has earned 20 caps with the U.S. Women’s National Team, winning a gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The Legacy (8-14-5, 29 points) are in 13th place in the 15-team league with three matches left in the regular season.
