APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A new family resource center is set to open soon in Appleton, with organizers saying it will give children and families a place to play, learn and connect with support services.
First Five Fox Valley held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new space and said it is close to welcoming its first visitors. The nonprofit said it is excited to create a new “hot spot” where families can gather and find the support they need.
The project was supported by a $2 million grant from the state’s non-state grant program. Gov. Tony Evers, who attended the ribbon cutting, said the new center reflects the work of people committed to improving the community.
“These projects don’t happen on their own, they happen because of dedicated people who are here today. You pay attention, listen and find ways to make life better, not just for this generation but also for generations to come,” Evers said.
The space could be ready for visitors as early as next week.
