(247NEWSSOURCE) – The Green Bay Packers’ defense has been dealt a significant blow.
Head coach Matt LaFleur confirmed Monday that linebacker Edgerrin Cooper suffered a season-ending Achilles tear during Green Bay’s recent win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Cooper went down without contact and reached for his lower left leg midway through the third quarter.
He was ruled out shortly after being carted off the field.
Packers underdogs at home: The Green Bay Packers enter Sunday’s matchup with the Chicago Bears as home underdogs, a role they’ve rarely held at Lambeau Field in recent seasons.
Green Bay has been favored in nearly every home game since the start of 2024, but oddsmakers have installed the Bears as 2.5 point favorites this week.
