Packers players join Green Bay students to pack meals for Jackson Elementary pantry

GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Students at Jackson Elementary School in Green Bay spent time packing meals for their school pantry with help from three special volunteers: Green Bay Packers players John Williams, Nick Niemann and Anthony Campbell.

The players worked side by side with students as part of the Adopt a School Pantry Program. The program was launched in May in partnership with Meijer and the Packers with the goal of ensuring community pantries and fridges are stocked.

“I think it goes to just show the kind of people in the community, the kind of people that you know work at this school and the ideas that they come up with to be able to help all of these families out,” Niemann said.

The Packers have already helped sponsor and stock community fridges at local elementary schools, including Beaumont and Eisenhower. They have also given money to Nicolet Elementary for the purchase of a community freezer.
