(ST. NORBERT COMMUNICATIONS) OSHKOSH – St. Norbert College battled a pair of Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference foes at the UW-Oshkosh Double Dual at Kolf Sports Center.
The Green Knights lost 3-0 to the No. 1-ranked Titans (25-21, 25-12, 25-19) and then fell 3-0 to UW-Stevens Point (25-21, 25-14, 25-20)
Against Oshkosh, St. Norbert held a 13-11 lead in Set 1 before the Titans went on a 7-1 run to take control en route to a 1-0 lead. Oshkosh jumped out to an 11-5 lead in Set 2 and erased a 7-5 third-set deficit with a 5-0 run to close out the match.
St. Norbert hit .020 in the match, with 29 kills against 27 errors in 99 attempts. Kirsten Klatt had six kills, while Anna Kudick (pictured) had five kills. Keira Ashenfelter had 17 assists and Flynn Puttin added 10 assists. Annaliesse Schmall had two service aces.
Maddie Kitowski finished with 11 digs, while Klatt had four blocks.
Against Stevens Point, the opening set featured five lead changes and 10 ties, the last coming at 21-21 before the Pointers closed out the set with a 4-0 run. In Set 2, St. Norbert saw a 6-5 lead turn into a 14-10 deficit as the Pointers took a 2-0 lead. Stevens Point never trailed in the third set, although St. Norbert cut a 19-7 deficit down to 24-20 late.
The Green Knights hit .156 for the match, with 31 kills against 16 errors in 96 attempts. Alli Clark had nine kills, while Klatt and Annabel Stevenson had six each. Puttin and Ashenfelter both had 13 assists.
Stevenson finished with 11 digs, while Ashenfelter had nine.
