MANITOWOC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Manitowoc police say they are looking for two individuals who allegedly drove their e-bikes recklessly downtown.
Police say during the evening hours of Aug. 31, officers observed two people on e-bikes riding in the street in the downtown area.
Due to local ordinances restricting the use of electric mini-bikes on the streets, officers attempted to pull the two riders over to educate them. The two individuals did not pull over, and during that time, were driving recklessly in the roadway, nearly causing traffic crashes. Due to the increased danger that the mini-bike drivers were posing for themselves and other drivers, attempts to pull them over were ended.
The Manitowoc Police Department is looking for the public’s help in identifying these two riders. They are both described as white males, in their teens or early 20’s. One rider was riding a black and silver electric mini-bike, wearing a blue T-shirt, black shorts, and a black motorcycle helmet. The other rider was riding on a blue, gas-powered mini-bike, wearing a black tank top, black shorts, and a black motorcycle helmet.
If anyone has any information on the identities of the e-bike riders or has seen these two e-bikes to contact the Manitowoc Police Department at (920) 686-6551 or through the P3 app, and reference case number 2026-00010143.
