OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The man accused of robbing an Oshkosh pizza pub two days after it faced an electrical fire is now in custody.
Early Wednesday evening, the Oshkosh Police Department announced that Darius Shields was located and taken into custody for several outstanding warrants and for burglary to a dwelling in Georgia.
Oshkosh Police thanked Thomas County Sheriff’s Deputies for assisting in apprehending Shields.
An investigation was launched on Aug. 14 after Oshkosh Police say the burglary occurred between 4-5:30 a.m. that morning at Players Pizza & Pub.
It was the latest difficulty the pub had faced since an electrical fire broke out there on Aug. 12.
No one was hurt in the fire, but owners Tim and Diana Murray say they will re-open. The kitchen needs to be replaced and six feet of water needs to be pumped out from the basement.
