It is easier, but not easy.
Wisconsin won’t play three of the Big Ten Conference’s top teams, Indiana, Oregon, and Ohio State.
It does face lesser teams, like Maryland, Purdue, Rutgers, and Michigan State.
It’s still not a breeze.
Sports Illustrated points out that coach Luke Fickell’s team will still have to take on four opponents ranked in the USA Today Coaches’ Poll Top 25: Notre Dame, USC, Penn State, and Iowa.

Badgers coach Kelly Sheffield was taking part in Big Ten Media Days Monday.
His volleyball powerhouse doesn’t have any traditional seniors on its roster and the juniors could conceivably play for three more years, instead of two.
Sheffield says he has already started having conversations with his players about what they might do if the extended eligibility rule becomes permanent.
