(LEARFIELD/247NEWSSOURCE) – Brice Turang punched a two-run single into left-center field, capping a come-from-behind rally in the Milwaukee Brewers’ 4-3 win at St. Louis over the Cardinals Monday night.
Milwaukee scored four runs in that seventh inning – the first two on David Hamilton’s double.
Turang said that the team is dedicated to grinding out wins.
Shane Drohan got the win, and Trevor Megill earned his 14th save.
Drohan pitched 6 innings, allowing 3 runs (1 earned) on 6 hits and 2 walks while striking out 2.
Brewers manager Pat Murphy said that Drohan pitched really well.
Chad Patrick pitched the seventh and eighth innings before Megill closed the game out.
Murphy talked about the importance of Patrick pitching well.
Murphy said that the Brewers had several missed opportunities.l
He said that the bottom of the lineup carried the team.
Ryan Fernandez took the loss for St. Louis.
The Cardinals and Brewers play a split doubleheader Tuesday afternoon and night with Jacob Misiorowski and Robert Gasser getting the starts.
The Cardinals have not announced their starting pitchers.
