GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The city of Green Bay’s Police and Fire Commission announced Ray Fuiten will serve as the next Fire Chief for the Green Bay Metro Fire Department.
Fuiten is a 20-year veteran of the GBMFD. He’s previously held the roles of Battalion Chief, Assistant Chief of Operations, and Interim Co-Chief of the Department. On the city of Green Bay’s website, Fuiten was most recently listed as Assistant Fire Chief.
The newly minted Chief Fuiten shared his appreciation for the promotion in a news release.
I am deeply honored and humbled to be selected by the Police and Fire Commission to serve as the next Fire Chief of the Green Bay Metro Fire Department. I want to extend my sincere gratitude to the Commission for their trust, confidence, and shared commitment to the safety of our communities. I look forward to leading the dedicated men and women of this department, whose unwavering service truly makes Green Bay Metro Fire Department one of the finest in the nation.
Fuiten will take over for former Fire Chief Matthew Knott, who stepped away from the job in February.
