WAUPACA, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A judge denied Desiree Osman’s motions to have reckless homicide and hiding a corpse charges dismissed in the case where she allegedly provided a fatal dose of heroin to Jon Morgan and then disposed of his body.
Morgan’s body has yet to be found.
Osman, 31, was charged in February in connection with the March 2020 incident. She also faces drug delivery and bail jumping counts.
Osman filed a motion with the court, seeking to have the reckless homicide and hiding a corpse charges dismissed. But during a hearing Friday, Judge Diane Meulemans denied the motions, court records show.
The judge also denied a defense motion to reduce the $100,000 cash bond.
Osman returns to court July 7 for a preliminary hearing.
Morgan, 22, was last seen March 6, 2020, and reported missing two days later.
According to the criminal complaint, Osman was interviewed several times by police. She admitted she purchased heroin in Milwaukee, and then she and Morgan smoked it later that day.
“In Desiree’s interview on 8/18/2020, she admitted to being the last person to see Jon alive,” the complaint states. “Desiree is told during an interview that she has knowledge of what happened but is scared and does not know what to do to which she responds ‘yeah’. Shortly later Desiree said ‘he’s dead’.”
While there were multiple searches for Morgan’s body, none have been successful. Morgan was last seen alive at a home in King, off of County Highway QQ.
“Investigators believe that Jon’s body was moved from Desiree’s residence and placed somewhere. His body, as of the date of this filing, has not been located despite exhaustive efforts,” the complaint states.
