GRAND CHUTE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A 13-year-old Chicago teen was charged in adult court Tuesday for allegedly shooting a man during a drug deal-turned-robbery in Grand Chute.
Jamariha Shipp is charged with attempted first-degree intentional homicide and attempted armed robbery for the Aug. 25 incident. A court appearance is scheduled for Tuesday afternoon.
In Wisconsin, children ages 10 and older are charged in adult court for homicide and attempted homicide cases. At a later stage of the case, the defense can seek to have the case moved to juvenile court.
Shipp’s charges are related to those filed Monday against Dequan Pearson, 17, and Jayshawn Jones, 18.
