GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Sexual assault charges against a Green Bay mental health hospital nurse were dismissed by prosecutors during the trial Tuesday afternoon, court records show.
Ysurf Shariff faced six counts, including three of second-degree sexual assault of a child for incidents in February and April, 2023.
According to court minute sheets, the jury was seated and testimony began.
On Tuesday afternoon, however, after one of the victims “makes a statement,” the state moved to drop the charges. The court granted the request.
The reason for the dismissal isn’t specifically cited in the minute sheets.
According to the criminal complaint, a 13-year-old female patient approached Shariff and asked to have sexual contact with him. He allegedly allowed the girl to touch him, and then allegedly touched her. He denied the allegations.
A 16-year-old girl told police Shariff would only give her medication if she exposed herself to him. Shariff denied the allegations.
Shariff had worked at Willow Creek Behavioral Health in Green Bay.
