ROME, May 14 (Reuters) – EdgeConneX plans to invest around 3 billion euros ($3.5 billion) to build three data centres in Italy, Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni’s office said on Thursday.
The plants will be located in Lombardy, northern Italy, the office said in a statement.
Earlier on Thursday, Industry Minister Adolfo Urso talked about an investment worth 6 billion euros.
“The total investment amounts to around 3 billion euros,” Meloni’s office said.
“The project involves the construction, by 2031, of three state-of-the-art data centre campuses in the Lombardy Region, with over 300 megawatt of capacity and an expected 5 billion euros in additional indirect investments,” the statement added.
