APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A Fox Valley gem is being honored as one of the best in its business.
The Fox Cities Performing Arts Center earned a spot on the list of leading theater venues around the globe, according to year-end data recently released by Pollstar.
“We thought this was a perfect opportunity to share the news that the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center was recognized worldwide as one of the top destinations for touring performances,” said Maria Van Laanen, president and CEO of the Fox Cities PAC.
In a ranking of the top 200 performing arts institutions, the PAC was 43rd for worldwide gross sales and 47th for total ticket sales. Data was collected from November 2024 to November 2025.
Van Laanen said this a big industry commendation, as the rankings place the PAC among some of the most elite theaters around the globe — including in major metropolitan hubs like London, New York and Sydney.
“For the Fox Cities to be in the top 50 in both of those lists, of all the venues in the world, is quite an accomplishment,” said Van Laanen.
She said this recognition belongs to not just the PAC, but all its patrons and everyone who has helped to grow the performing arts sector in the Fox Valley.
“Those of us who live here know this: We’ve got something really special here in the Fox Cities. People love to engage with each other. They really enjoy those live experiences, and they absolutely have an appreciation for the arts,” she said.
