(LEARFIELD) – The Brewers exploded for six runs to break a 2-2 tie Wednesday afternoon, beating Tampa Bay 8-2 at American Family Field in Milwaukee.
A two-run single by Christian Yelich of Rays reliever Griffin Jax put Milwaukee ahead.
Brewers manager Pat Murphy said that sometimes you are going to fall behind.
Brice Turang had tied the score at two with a two-run homer in the third inning.
Jacob Misiorowski started and went six strong innings on the mound. He allowed 2 runs on 4 hits and 2 walks while striking out 7.
Murphy talked about Misiorowski getting through 6 innings.
Misiorowski talked about the offense coming back in the eighth.
Grant Anderson, Aaron Ashby who got the win and DL Hall each pitched a scoreless inning of relief
Home plate umpire C.B. Bucknor was knocked out of the game when a fouled pitch hit him in the mask.
Turang said that it was a good homestand.
The Brewers who are now 5-1 are off Thursday and will send Chad Patrick to the mound in the first game of a weekend series against the Kansas City Royals Friday.
