Kyle Lee Eith (Waupaca Co. Jail)
WAUPACA, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – An alleged drunk driver who led police on a high-speed chase pleaded not guilty Friday.
Kyle Eith, 38, also waived a preliminary hearing on seven counts, including fourth offense operating while intoxicated, for the Jan. 19 incident. A next court date wasn’t immediately posted in online court records.
The Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office was advised of a vehicle pursuit that had occurred in Outagamie County involving the Wisconsin State Patrol. It had reached speeds of over 100 miles per hour.
A short time later, officers with the Waupaca Police Department and Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office were notified by FLOCK cameras that the same vehicle was in the Waupaca area.
When a deputy and officer attempted making contact with the vehicle, it intentionally rammed both of their squad cars, then drove away.
A responding officer pursued the vehicle for approximately a half a mile through the city of Waupaca until the suspect crashed into a tree. The vehicle stopped just before it hit a residence.
No one was hurt during the incident and minimal damage occurred to the victim’s property and patrol squads.
