NEENAH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Classes at Neenah Middle School will be held virtually Wednesday as authorities investigate a possible threat.
Late Tuesday night, the Neenah Joint School District received information from the Neenah Police Department about “a potential threat to school safety” at the city’s middle school Wednesday.
“In order to keep our students and staff safe, the district will hold a digital learning day until the individuals involved have been identified and the situation has been resolved,” a statement from the district says. “The Neenah Police Department is actively investigating the situation and we will provide further updates on Wednesday.”
Officials emphasized the threat is specific to Neenah Middle School. All other Neenah schools will have in-person learning Wednesday.
Middle school parent-teacher conferences will be online, as well.
According to the district, this situation is not related to social media posts made over the weekend, which were deemed not credible by police.
