GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – William Munson was sentenced Friday to 13 years in prison for a shooting which injured one woman.
Munson, 49, previously pleaded no contest to first-degree reckless injury and possession of a firearm by a felon.
He was also placed on extended supervision for ten years by Judge John Zakowski.
Before the sentence was issued, Munson, who was having voice issues, apologized for his actions.
“I’d really like to tell the victims I know I hurt them, and I hope this don’t stop them from enjoying themselves in life because I know life has more things to offer than doing what I did. I’m taking initial steps to make sure nothing like this ever happens again in my life,” Munson said.
Witnesses said there was a fight and some yelling before a gunman fired multiple shots toward a group of people in a parking lot in the 1100 block of Main Street on June 24, 2023. A 22-year-old woman from Sobieski was wounded.
Munson turned himself in to police nearly six weeks after the incident.
