(WNFL) – The Freedom Irish were expected to get a good contest from the Elk Mound Mounders in the WIAA Division 3 state semifinal boys basketball game at the Kohl Center in Madison on Thursday.
Instead, Freedom built a 42-11 halftime lead and cruised to a 66-32 win.
Drew Kortz and Donovan Davis led Freedom with 27 points each.
Freedom shot 48 percent for the game, making 28-of-58 field goals including 8-of-26 3-pointers.
Elk Mound made just 4-of-20 shots in the first half and finished 9-of-28 including 2-of-16 on 3-point attempts.
Logan Jerome led Elk Mound with 10 points.
Freedom will play Milwaukee Academy of Science which beat Lake Mills 65-61 in Thursday’s second Division 3 semifinal for the Division 3 title Saturday afternoon at about 3 p.m.
