APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A three-lane configuration project on Appleton’s College Avenue will now be permanent.
The Common Council unanimously approved the project Wednesday night.
It changed College Avenue from four lanes to three, and added bike lanes and a turn lane.
It started as an 18-month pilot program in 2023.
The city says since the change, average speed has been reduced on College Avenue and crashes have lowered by nearly 13%.
