MARINETTE COUNTY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Motorized recreation trails are closing in Marinette County.
According to a news release from the county’s forestry department, the recreational trail system will close to all motorized vehicles at 12 a.m. Friday.
“This closure is required to protect the trail bed from damage caused by motorized vehicles during spring break up,” the release states.
Officials say the trails will re-open “once conditions exist which can support motorized traffic without damage to the trail.”
A news release with information about the trail system’s reopening will be sent out when the time comes. Those dates will also be published on Marinette County’s website.
