MOUNTAIN, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A snowmobiler died after crashing on an Oconto County trail.
It happened just after 5 p.m. Friday near Bonita Road in the town of Mountain.
Deputies say a snowmobile, operated by a 55-year-old Mequon man was going south on County Highway W on the trail near Bonita Road when it appears the snowmobile lost control after striking a sign post with one of the skis along the trail.
The driver was thrown from the snowmobile and died at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
