GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The Milwaukee Brewers hit it out of the park with a surprise visit to a Green Bay school.
As part of the team’s statewide Frozen Racing Sausages tour, senior leaders from the team and the Famous Racing Sausages stopped by Nicolet Elementary School Tuesday.
During the visit, first grade teacher, Megan Fletcher, was recognized with the Brewers Grand Slam Teacher Award, which honors educators who use innovative strategies in the classroom and make a difference in the lives of their students. Fletcher even got a personalized Brewers jersey.
The Brewers also presented the school with a $1,000 check for school supplies.
“It will be awesome. We love to support our kids and materials that they need also their emotional regulation and their behavior needs so that will be really great to get them the supplies so that they can continue to learn,” Fletcher said.
And the event wrapped up with the Famous Racing Sausages taking a lap around the gym.
