RIVER FOREST, Ill. – St. Norbert College left it late against Dominican University in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference game at Igini Sports Forum, with senior Garrett Grzesk hitting a game-winning shot with 1.3 seconds remaining to lead the Green Knights to a 66-65 win.
The Green Knights (14-6, 10-3 NACC) held a lead for most of the game before Dominican hit a pair of free throws with 10 seconds left in the second half. Grzesk’s shot gave St. Norbert a one-point win on the road.
After trading the lead back-and-forth in the opening five minutes, St. Norbert gained a two-possession lead for almost the rest of the half with 10:06 left. The Stars would tie the game at 21 with 2:30 left, but a Connor Pytleski 3-pointer gave the Green Knights the lead back and led to a four-point advantage at the half, 27-23.
St. Norbert opened the second half on a 8-0 run, with Grzesk and Brandt Wilson leading the way, growing the lead to 36-26 at 15:48. The Stars fought back to take a one-point lead at 39-38 with 12:39 remaining, but a couple of baskets from Cole Uhlenbrauck gave the Green Knights the lead back.
A Jamison Nickolai jumper with 5:40 left in the second half gave St. Norbert a 58-49 advantage, but the Stars proved difficult to put away and would find themselves up with just 21 seconds remaining off a pair of free throws. Grzek’s shot just as time was about to expire proved to be the nail in the coffin for the Stars despite their upset attempt.
St. Norbert shot 37 percent from the floor (20-for-54). Grzesk led the Green Knights with 18 points, while Wilson recorded a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds. St. Norbert outrebounded the Stars 41-31.
Dominican shot 37.3 percent from the floor (19-for-51). Terrell Taylor led the Stars with 22 points off the bench.

RIVER FOREST, Ill. – St. Norbert College showed no signs of slowing its winning streak down as the Green Knights rolled to a 91-55 win over Dominican University in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference game at Igini Sports Forum.
The Green Knights (15-3, 10-0 NACC) won their eighth straight as they held a double-digit advantage for most of the game.
Falling behind 5-2 to start the game, Casey Jepson hit a 3-pointer to give the game’s last tie at 8:43 in the first quarter before a 22-6 run from St. Norbert turned the game on its head. Taylor Thiry had 10 points in just the first 10 minutes, while Emma Morrisey hit several shots from beyond the arc.
St. Norbert’s 3-point shooting expanded the lead to a 44-23 advantage at halftime, with the Green Knights hitting six in the first half and shooting nearly 50 percent from the mark.
The Stars would open the third quarter on a 7-0 run in the first minute of the second half, but the might of the Green Knights continued to show as they had their best quarter of the day with a 28-point outburst. St. Norbert would allow just one field goal in the final 7:46 of the third quarter, while Morrisey again continued to hit shot after shot from three, finishing with seven makes from beyond the arc.
Makayla Hayes was the main offensive threat in the fourth quarter, scoring eight of St. Norbert’s 19 points in the final 10 minutes.
St. Norbert shot 50.7 percent from the floor (34-for-67) and 45.5 percent from three (10-for-22). Morrisey scored a season-and career-high 27 points, while Rose Hahn had 19 points and nine rebounds.
Dominican shot 34.9 percent from the floor (15-for-43). Melissa Gomez led the Stars with 18 points
