SUAMICO, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — According to the Suamico Fire Department, the vehicle that broke through the ice on Suamico River Thursday afternoon has been recovered.
Officials were called to the Suamico River shortly before 1:30 p.m. Thursday after receiving reports of a car that had broken through the ice and fallen into the river below, along with the driver.
The driver of the vehicle safely made way to land, with the assistance from nearby neighbors and community members, officials say.
Firefighters successfully removed the vehicle from Suamico River, near the entrance into Green Bay, Saturday morning.
