GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The Salvation Army of Greater Green Bay says it fell slightly short of its Christmas campaign goal.
The organization says it raised $1,118,177 of its $1.32 million goal.
The Christmas Campaign raises money through its iconic red kettles, corporate sponsorships, Green Bay Packers players autograph signings and online contributions. It funds the organization’s programs that address hunger, homelessness, and other critical needs throughout the year.
“We are so thankful for the outpouring of support from our neighbors, businesses, and volunteers,” said Major Catherine Fitzgerald, Area Coordinator. “Every donation, every moment spent ringing a bell, and every act of kindness helped make this possible. While we didn’t quite reach our goal, the love and generosity shown by our community have been nothing short of inspiring.”
A silver lining to the campaign, the Salvation Army of Greater Green Bay says volunteers rang bells 540 more hours this year over last year.

Last year, the organization raised 87% of its $1.4 million goal.
