SHAWANO COUNTY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Be careful going out onto the Wolf River for the rest of the winter, Shawano County sheriff’s officials warn.
The sheriff’s office says the Balsam Row Road Dam is not operating properly because of a generator failure. The dam is on the Wolf River between Shawano and Keshena.
As a result, water levels are expected to see day-to-day changes, impacting ice conditions on the river.
The sheriff’s department says local officials are working with dam operators and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources on how best to resolve the issue.
