APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The Appleton Police Department is bidding farewell to one of its K9 officers.
K9 Zuul worked his final shift with the department last week, according to a Facebook post Monday from APD.
“After years of dedicated service, Zuul is officially retiring and will enjoy a new chapter of family life with his handler, Sgt. Zieman,” officials wrote in the post.
Zuul wasn’t just a working dog—he was a true member of our team, sharing countless hours with his shift partners and contributing to the safety of our community.
Thank you, K-9 Zuul, for your loyalty, courage, and companionship. Wishing you a retirement full of love, rest, and all the belly rubs you can handle.
A longtime K9 deputy with the Brown County Sheriff’s Office, K9 Harli, retired last week, as well.
