FOND DU LAC, WI (WTAQ) — A new home for a Fond du Lac non-profit organization.
Sandi Paws has helped place thousands of dogs and cats in forever homes since it began about 10 years ago.
The foster-based rescue began in founder and CEO Victoria Timreck’s home. Over the years they expanded to a rented location on Main St. in Fond du Lac.
“It’s strictly office; there’s no storage, there’s no parking, and parking has really become an issue,” said Timreck.
The new permanent building at 288 W. Ninth St. will help remedy that situation and house rescue operations, offices, supplies, donations and equipment. It’s expected that the new building will be ready by the end of this month.
Timreck is excited for the other unique opportunities the new building can provide.
“The building will allow us to have obedience classes, we’re going to try to do adoption events, and we’re hoping eventually we can do some low-cost shots,” said Timreck.
While the building will not house dogs or cats, Timreck wants it to be a space where people can bring their little dogs and socialize with other dog owners.
The building does need some work; including painting, flooring, electrical, insulation, roofing and plumbing. Interested volunteers can e-mail sandipawsrescue@gmail.com.
